Rebus is teaming up with Meridian ACT to deliver two free LGBTQIA+ awareness and inclusion training sessions for artists, arts organisations, community arts workers and friends and associates. We are hosting two different sessions at Gorman Arts Centre Main Hall throughout November that will help you create safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people in your arts practice.

Community Consultations and Playback Theatre Performances – Stages of Empathy
We are creating a workplace training piece to tour to organisations around Australia in 2025. In this developmental stage of the project, we would value your input at our upcoming Community Organisation Consultation sessions. We’d like to hear from members of community organisations about their experiences working with diverse communities and creating an inclusive environment. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who either work with or have lived in experience in autism, psychosocial and intellectual disability.
One day Playback Theatre Workshop/Audition with Rebus Theatre
This workshop is an introduction to Playback Theatre. It will be a one-day intensive for performers to learn more about the art of Playback. It will also double as a casual audition for the Rebus Playback Theatre Ensemble.
Crossroads Mental Health Festival
This October, in honor of Mental Health Month, Rebus Theatre is proud to present the Crossroads Festival, a heartfelt musical celebration designed to raise awareness and funds for mental health programs. Re-Emergence is the culmination of over three years of exploration with disabled actors in regional NSW, interrogating the question, “how do we emerge from bushfires, covid19, drought and other disruptions over recent years?”.

Rebus is seeking expressions of interest from actors, improvisors and musicians to receive free training in Playback Theatre as part of the Rebus Playback Theatre Ensemble! Training will likely lead to paid performance opportunities. Join a supportive ensemble, and an international community, creating Theatre for social change.
We are holding a public group audition workshop on Tuesday June 6 from 6:45-9:15pm in Braddon. The location will be provided upon registration.
Playback Theatre is a form of improvised theatre in which audience members tell moments or stories from their own lives, and a team of actors and musicians improvise it back on the spot, without costumes, props, script or rehearsal. It can be funny or deeply moving depending upon the story told. It can be a powerful tool in healing and empowering communities.

Last weekend, we headed to Queanbeyan as part of our Re-emergence project, celebrating the talents and perspectives of disabled adults from Regional NSW. We had an awesome time learning about the region, its people and the power of art to highlight unique and powerful voices.
There are still plenty of spots available for you to collaborate with award-winning theatre artists to create an original film showcasing your amazing stories.
Braidwood Wonder Walks Update!
1) Unfortunately our first (SOLD OUT) Braidwood Wonder Walks event with Project Alchemy artist Cecile Galliazzo, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has had to be postponed due to bad whether. The new date for the Wonder Walk at Geebung is Saturday 15th July. Check your emails for what to do if you had a ticket for this. The date change may open up some new tix for this so stay tuned.

Join Rebus Theatre's Re-Emergence project, celebrating the talents and perspectives of disabled adults from Bega, Queanbeyan, and Goulburn! Collaborate with award-winning theatre artists to create an original film showcasing your amazing stories.
Our first filming workshop for Queanbeyan participants is on Friday April 28 at The B, Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre, 11am-4pm. No acting experience required, it's FREE to attend, and carers are welcome too!
